Apparently word on the Cape has gotten around about my quest for LOBSTER!!!!  So much that Seminar attendee Sue Campbell brought her personal creation to share with me - and the good news? Her designs are available at Tumble Weed Quilt shop in Barnstable, MA. All I can say is YUMMMMMM on so many levels.

The lush, saturated colors of quilt artist, Frieda's Anderson's, quilts are evident in these fantastic, fused and pieced designs. Frieda hand-dyes her own cotton and silk fabrics and the colors really shine through in her quilts. To learn more watch Show 705 where she demonstrates her methods for fusible applique including a different and unusual binding technique. You can visit Frieda at www.friestyle.com.

Hurricane Earl will arrive during the evening hours tonight near Cape Cod. However, the quilters have not been deterred, they are still here showing their enthusiasm and passion. We are not in danger, but tonight we will all leave and hunker down while the main thrust of the storm passes by. Then, tomorrow, we'll wake up to see what transpired during the night and convene again to enjoy our last day of the Ricky Tims Super Quilt Seminar in Hyannis, MA on the Cape.

Look at these HARDY NEW ENGLAND QUILTERS strutting their stuff - (and one from Scotland, and one from Alaska, and 25 from Canada and more)!!!

AlexDid you know that September is National Sewing Month?  Well, what are you going to do about it? Is it time to finish your BOM or is it time to START your BOM.

Are you looking for some quick projects to make as gifts for Christmas?  Did you know that there are over 5 pages of projects in the Projects section? Everything from lunch bags, to bean bag blankets, to place mats, and stuffed owls can be found there.

How about taking a few classes?  Some of the world's top instructors are right here on TQS, Jinny Beyer, Ricky Tims, Alex Anderson, and more.

Or how about finding out what your Bernina can do? Why not watch an educational Bernina Video?

And just for fun, why not check out the Events section and see if there are any quilt shows in your area.

Whatever you do, keep on sewing, keep on creating, and keep on quilting.

3040_91102005.jpgQuilters all around the world look for ways to exchange their ideas and expand their horizons.  One of those ways is through a block exchange.

Have you ever participated in a block exchange? Was it with your closest friends, people you met in the guild, or internet buddies around the world?  What were the rules? Were you happy with the results?  Would you do it again?  What did you gain from the experience?

(The quilt on the right is the result of a "star" block exchange.)

3039_iphoto.jpgSome of our members have hundreds of quilting books about all sorts of topics and techniques.  Some have only a few that they equally treasure.

What TQS wants to know is "What is your oldest quilting book; where did you get it; why do you keep it; and what have you learned from it?
