To celebrate TQS' upcoming 10th anniversary we've been highlighting shows from the past ten years. We've been putting pictures in the newsletter/blog, with a clue, and members have had to guess which show it's from and just what might be going on in the picture. Have you been playing? Guess correctly and you could WIN A TQS DVD.  Fill in the information under the photo and hit the "submit" button to enter your answer. We will randomly pick one winner per newsletter to receive a DVD that contains this show.  Answers and winners will be posted in the September 2 Weekend Fun.

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER YOUR ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION.

Here's your next photo and clue for Show #9:

Yep, Alex made a depression-era quilt for the movie The Persian Pickle Club which has yet to be completed.  The book was written by Sandra Dallas and tells the story of Rita, a new town resident of Harveyville, Kansas, during the Great Depression. Rita is accepted into The Persian Pickle Club quilting group and they begin to teach her how to quilt. Alex made the quilt using reproduction fabrics and used a great zig zag border. She demonstrates how to do the binding on that border in Show 1905: Animal Portraits with Barbara Yates Beasley.

This black and white wholecloth quilt by Sherry Rogers-Harrison just knocks our socks off.

This work was inspired from a drawing done in Sherry's creative design course by Tom Russell. This piece is the first of Sherry's "tratempory" quilts and is a fusion of Tom's contemporary flair combined with Sherry's love for tradition.

Some of the awards this quilt has won include 1st Place Best Wall Quilt AQS Paducah 2008, 1st Place Innovative Wholecloth MQS 2008, and 1st Place APNQ 2008.

A lifelong lover of animals, Barbara Yates Beasley says, "it is all about capturing the expression of the animal and finding its soul, that makes a photograph or a quilt look realistic."  Watch as she creates that realism in this time-lapse video.

Star Members can learn how she does it in Show 1905: Animal Portraits.
