Ricky chats with Deborah Boschert about her work in fabric collage. Her artwork incorporates personal symbols like houses, leaves, stones, and handwriting. She also loves to do handwork while sitting in her grandmother's chair.

I was chosen as a juror on a trial and I can say it was an eye opening experience. I did enjoy the entire process except for the 2 hours of expert testimony...kinda dry and long. But, somehow the experience made me feel like an integral part of our legal system. Once done though, I was ready to get back into my stitching life!!! A week out of December is a big investment and now I am in catch up mode...Christmas cards...presents wrapped and ready to ship...last minute homemade gifts!!! I did take a little break and headed over to the Stitchin' Post to view the latest gallery exhibit. The shop is decorated for the holidays and Twigs, which is the home decor area, is overflowing with wonderful gift ideas.

Many of the art quilts in this slide show are For Sale!!! So, if you see something you must have, give the shop a call! After all Christmas is just around the corner!!! G and I have posted a new video this week on Quilt Roadies and the 12 Days of Christmas Give Away is still going on at the Woolie Blog! Take a moment for yourself and enjoy.

As so many of you know from watching the current show with Rosa Rojas, the Apliquick tools have a great story and are marvelous quilting tools. We offer these quality tools in our Shop. We have a problem. We anticipated a certain number of sales. The orders that came in were 5 TIMES our expectations. We were shocked. We currently only have 1 employee in the Shop. So we quickly hired a helper but that wasn't enough. Alex and Capt'n John have been filling orders along with Rose. Then we ran out of product. We have 3 orders on the way from Spain and will fill every order as fast as we can when the boxes arrive.

Please accept our apology for the delay and miscalculation. We plan to gear up to allow every member to have a chance to get these items in their studios. Thank you for your patience. The tools are worth the wait- Alex loves hers.

With acceptance (and rejection) letters for QuiltCon 2017 coming just around the corner, we thought you might like to hear from a former QuiltCon juror, Latifah Saafir. Latifah describes the jurying process and tells how difficult it is to select from such a huge number of entrants (and we hear this year there are more than ever).

Aki Sakai's miniature quilt, Merry Christmas, is absolutely exquisite in its detail. Look at what she packed into each square and remember, this quilt is less than 24" x 24."
