Joen Wolfrom is a color expert that looked for a way to make it easier for the rest of us. You can't dedicate all the time necessary to learn it all so do what you did in College....use the "Cliff Notes". Joen designed the Color Wheel and the 3- in-1 Tool to make your life easier and your quilts more colorful. The following are descriptions of the benefits.

Another benefit?? You get more off if you buy the combination of the Color Wheel and the 3-in-1 Tool together.

"By popular demand, Joen Wolfrom has designed a durable, color-accurate, double-sided, multi-purpose color wheel that is perfectly sized for use in your studio, workroom, office, or sewing room.

It’s easily transportable. One side of the wheel features 24 pure colors with 4 essential color-plan wheels for each color. The opposite side shows a range of each pure color’s tints, shades, and tones. Pure-color wedges are slotted so you can audition colors (fabrics, paint swatches, etc.) alongside them to ensure a perfect match.

• Beautiful color reference based on the Ives scientific color theory–the definitive color source for nearly a century.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1. Start with your desired color card
2. Choose one of the color scheme options
3. Find the corresponding companion color cards to create the perfect color combination.

New! Includes CMYK and RGB formulas, plus Hex numbers for website design

Improved! Larger color swatches and expanded guidelines for use

• 24 color cards plus an in-depth instructional guide make color planning easy
• Handy, take-along size-refer to it at home, in your studio, or while shopping
• Based on the Ives Color Wheel"

Lyric writes, This piece was begun and set aside almost 10 years ago but it was time to take it out and put it together. It sprang from a trip where laughter bubbled continually and effortlessly.

Update from Ricky:

Error Corrected in Newly Uploaded Pattern - Crazy Patch

if you have downloaded your free Crazy Patch pattern for the Legacy Quilt prior to 6/29/2017, please note:

The crazy patches should be trimmed to 7” so they finish each at 6.5”. The previous pattern stated to trim them to 6” which is not correct. Many thanks to an avid quilter who caught the mistake.

In the event you created your crazy patch blocks and trimmed them to 6.5”, then I would suggest putting on a 1.5” border instead of a 1” border and then it will come out to 15.5” unfinished - 15” finished.

Apologies for not catching the mistake.

The Crazy Patch - AKA Rebel Patch block is the sixth block for the Legacy Quilt Club.

Laura's daughter, Rose Wilder Lane was a prolific author and journalist, and both women were accomplished with the needle and in handwork. Several Ingalls-Wilder handmade crazy quilts are displayed at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum in Mansfield, MO, where the "Little House" books were written.

In 1961 Rose wrote a childhood memory of crazy quilts:
"Crazy quilt," my grandmothers called the hap-hazard mosaic, with slight respect, but my young aunts (Laura's sisters Carrie and Grace) made 'crazy-quilt throws' of scraps of silk and velvet, embroidering them and feather stitching the seams. These elegant "throws" were draped on pianos to Queen Victoria's taste. Today they are quaintly interesting; I wouldn't throw one away, but I would not call it patchwork. True patchwork is designed; it has meaning in every line.  ~ Rose Wilder Lane, Woman's Day Book of American Needlework, Ch. 5 "Patchwork"

The Legacy Quilt features twenty blocks. A new block pattern is available for FREE each month. Participants receive a 15% discount on all regular priced items at the Ricky Tims Online Store.

Here is the Crazy Patch block in the four Blendables colorways. Each Blendables pack has six hand-dyed fat quarters. Each colorway is comprised of two coordinating Blendables packs (twelve fat quaters total) and a coordinating one-yard piece of background fabric.

Here is a line of words you don't always see together...."Improvisational Piecing, Machine Piecing, Hand Quilting, 1st Place", but Pam Beal pulled it off. Her quilt Cloudburst 50" x 51", took the blue ribbon in the Small Wall Quilts - Hand Quilted at Paducah 2017. Learn more about Pam Beal by clicking here.

Some very talented TQS Members have submitted their quilts to the TQS Quilt Gallery. Here are some of their beautiful quilts that represent summer. These members are smart as well as talented; they know that one very lucky TQS Member who has posted a quilt in the TQS Quilt Gallery will win a Ricky Tims Rhapsody quilt when the Gallery reaches 36,000 quilts. (We are currently at a smidge over 20,000.)

Upload photos of your quilts today. Each TQS Member can enter up to twelve quilts. They do not have to be your quilts; they can be an antique quilt that came down through your family, or a top that you just proudly finished.

All you need to do is go to See Quilts (in the navigation bar) pull down the menu and select -- Add Quilt to Gallery. This will bring up the New Quilt Gallery Submission Form. Complete the form and you are on your way!

We can't wait to see the new quilts soon!
