Schoolhouse Block

"Then Laura saw the schoolhouse. It was out on the prairie beyond the end of the dusty road…. A bell rang. A young lady stood in the schoolhouse doorway, swinging the bell in her hand. All the boys and girls hurried by her into the schoolhouse."

Binger is still getting the place organized so it’s not open yet, but you can keep up with them on Facebook for the time being.

Ayako Kawakami of Funabashi-shi, Chiba, Japan, made this quilt entitled Kirara's Garden Party. She writes that, "This is my sixth quilt for my daughter, Kirara, since she was born. I made this quilt with Crazy Log Cabins and added a lot of embroidery, beads, and ribbon. The garden party will begin with her and her dog." You'll want to look at every detail! We particularly love the heart details.

Ayako's quilt won The World of Beauty Award (a $7500 prize) at the Houston Quilt Festival 2017.

G, Enzo, and I hope you had a safe and wonderful holiday.

We headed "over the river"

...and through the woods

to Nana & G's house we went.

Spending time with friends and family, we are grateful to all of them and the many stitching friends we have met along the way on our journey to connect quilters far and wide.

I thought I would leave you with one final Christmas slide show for inspiration. Linda is a talented and prolific stitcher/quilter/decorator who is generous with support and ideas. May the New Year bring a lightness of spirit and new projects!!!
