Magnetic Attraction by Gail Stepanek and Jan Hutchison puts that theory into practice. "Four paper-pieced Compass blocks that didn't "play well" with the others were cast aside for over a year until they found this new home." Featured at Houston 2017 in the Traditional Pieced category, machine piecing, hand appliqué, and "Jan's original quilting designs add great interest" to a quilt that not so long ago was poles apart in its construction.
