Polish Pottery was inspired by, what else, some polish pottery that Chieko Shiraishi came across that she wanted to turn into a quilt. Winning Second Place Traditional in the World Quilt Competition at PIQF 2019, "the appliquéd flowers are handcrafted crochet lace" and the quilt "has a new sense of technique by combining quilt and crocheted lace." With spectacular hand piecing, hand appliqué, AND hand quilting, all brought together through it's yellow color scheme, it is quite a thing to see.
Polish Pottery by Chieko Shiraishi of Japan won Second Place Traditional in the World Quilt Competition at the Pacific International Quilt Festival (PIQF) 2019.

This quilt is magnificent.
I love the Polish detail. Makes me very happy.
How interesting and honorable to give a credit for the inspiration coming from the Polish pottery: obviously one artist inspired another in such a beautiful way.
