While poking around in our archives we found these three adorable Sunbonnet Sues. They were winners in a contest featured in The Quilt Life magazine back in 2012.

Enjoy !

I have always wanted to do a Sunbonnet Sue quilt.
I think they are adorable.
But what I really want is to do one like a quilt my grandmother made that I have memories of as a child.
I remember it as more of a Sunbonnet girl quilt. They were older looking than the Sue,did have aprons also, and I believe they had parasols.
She passed away when I was 7 and I have no idea what happened to the quilt.
I have searched patterns off and on for years and never have been able to find one that was like the girls on her quilt so I don't know if it was a pattern that went around during her lifetime (she was born in 1880 and died in 1955) or one that she modified herself.

Alex, What ever happened to the Sue Blocks you were given early on in TQS after you said you would never make a Sue. I was one of the contributers (snowplow3840) so was just wondering. Ann Rowland

I also love Sue Bonnet patterns. My first quilt that I made was a Sue and Sam Bonnet quilt and I added buttons to show other activites they would have done.
Love these ideas.
