The Influence of Freddy Moran

Okay…..so apparently Freddy Moran isn’t just inspirational to quilters…..she is even inspirational to non-quilters…..like Jim Hucks, our cameraman.

After shooting at Freddy’s House last month, our cameraman, Jim Hucks….went home and heeded Freddy’s advice…and did some painting in his own kitchen. He recalls Freddy mentioning that, “The color red is a neutral"…..and “BROWN IS A HOLE.” Noticing that his kitchen was brown & black….he got to work.

This is the influence of Freddy Moran.

I loved this post back in August but have been waiting in vain for photos of the completed kitchen. Can we please have a nice shot of the full length of the finished kitchen, floor to ceiling? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Holy crap this is awesome! Way to go Hucks, I hope Freddy saw this. If more people were more spontaneous and free willed like Freddy and Jim this would be a much better world.

I have a hutch in my kitchen. I painted it about 4 different colors. It is an accent piece next to the white cabinets. Then I painted it a colonial minty green. BINGO! The green is a definite POP of color and it goes with the gray and brown slate floor AND the white cabinets! I had to be brave. (My previous colors were lt blue and yellow and brown and teal turquoise. All of these colors looked either garish or wimpy). So happy with the green.
