Kazuko Noto used multiple log cabin blocks in her quilt, Dream - Soaring in the Sky, "to express the soaring from the dark ground to bright sky." There are so many different variations of the same block, it's a wonder she could find more.

Dream - Soaring in the Sky by Kazuko Noto of Akita, Japan was featured in the Pieced, Large category at Houston 2019.

IThis is an "artistic" quilt. Has a strong message, using fabric and quilting. Techniques used are used so the artist could spread her message.

Bold and original abstract piece that takes Argyla lot of chances. This is what I think quilting should be. Fantastic work and my favorite of your featured quilts of the past few years. This is a piece that demands to be looked at. Just fantastic!

While I admire the craftmanship in this quilt, I don't like it. Too disorganized and dreary. Is this an abstract art piece or a quilt? Just by looking at it I couldn't decide. Definitely not something I admire.nor would I attempt to make.

This is a spectacular idea. The blocks look like they are actually exploding into air. The color gradiation give it the movement. Thank you for sharing

Wonderful! You can actually "feel" the movement - like a bunch of leaves being caught by the wind and sent spiraling upward.

Wow--this is so cool. I love making wonky Log Cabin blocks, just to see how I can put all of them together.
