Freddy Moran Turns 90

Freddy wrote in her book, Freddy's House (ctpub.com), "I believe every person needs a passion: be it tennis or golf, or gardening,...whatever one finds as an inner core to keep them vital and interested. Age fades and creativity takes over---what a powerful feeling."

We are so happy that quilting caught your interest (at the age of 60)!

Yes, that's right 60! She graduated as an art major from Dominican College in San Rafael and then spent a lot of time raising her five boys. When her youngest began school, she became involved in needlepoint and taught this craft until she was 60. Then one of her daughters signed them up for a quilting class and Freddy had to be persauded to go. Once there, however, she was instantly hooked and a quilter was born.

You'll be learning more about Freddy in the future...stay tuned...

When Marilyn and I met Freddie and Neil we became fast friends. As we travelled the quilting world, we became wonderful friends. I am so happy to see our dear friend still hitting It out of the park. She is amazing! Dick Paul

I came across my copy of your book, “Freddy’s House” and I was wondering how you were doing. Looks like you are fine! I first met you at Quilt Camp in the Pines at Northwestern State University. Keep enjoying your quilting. I’m still interested in making houses and quilts.
Be safe!

I love Freddy's quilts! On my way to Monterey one year, I stopped in a quilt shop in Santa Maria. They had some of her quilts up on the wall in a little exhibit!!! they were wonderful to see. Happy Birthday, Freddy.

Freddy worked with Gwen Marston on a couple of books and several quilt projects. If I run out of ideas--which doesn't happen too often, thank goodness--those books are included as inspiration.
