Previously I pondered the changing quilt world and how it will evolve and change. It was with great sadness that I received an email that the physical shop Olde World Quilt Shoppe, one of my favorites, was closing its doors and transitioning to an online shop with a possibility of opening in the future. It is challenging to face each quilting day wondering how we will adjust to these changes. I know we have talked about how our kids and grandkids are currently experiencing the virtual classroom and that this might open the quilting door for quilters everywhere to take a class they otherwise wouldn't be able to take, either because of the cost or commitment to time. There have been platforms such as Crafty classes, where you can observe an art teacher and potentially learn a technique. But, now the Stitchin Post has taken it to a new level!
A ZOOM lecture series with Jean Wells!
I mean...this is brilliant! It will allow interaction with the instructor! Just think of all the students who have wanted to take a class with Jean but the cost of travel and lodging prevented this dream from coming true! And, if you are like me who knows zero about the art world of quilting...who is a pattern follower...well, I will feel comfortable sitting in the comfort of my home as a student!
The first lecture is called Dreaming in Color - Color Vocabulary with Jean Wells, costs $15, and takes place this Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 12 PM PST.
I am ever hopeful that as we move forward there will be exciting new adventures in the quilting world! Join me!
Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies.
