Baker Beach is based off of a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge taken by Valley Springs photographer John Slot. Sandra writes, “I hand-dyed most of the fabric – it’s all cotton – to try to look like the water, and the sky, and the rocks and the reflections,” she said. “It took about three months to make the piece, and then I quilted it. It won Best Pictorial at the Pacific International Quilt Festival last October (2019).”

Totally awesome Sandra! I was born in Letterman hospital overlooking the "Golden Gate." Many memories; keep up your great works.

The bridge is just phenomenal! Brings back the beauty of the bridge & bay in all its brightness, which isn't often that visible. Excellent work!

This quilt is such a realistic rendition of the bridge. I love the reflections. Simply beautiful! I can see why this quilt was a winner.

The reflections are just awesome. Happy memories of a trip to the west coast, and that stupendous bridge. Nothing like it here in te UK and you've caught it so well.

Makes me homesick. The Golden Gate Bridge was visible from my bedroom window when I was a teenager. I have always thought it the most iconic of all bridges. Thank you for this wonderful replication.
