We love the process Irene Roderick used to make her quilt, She's Lost Control Again. She calls it "dancing with the wall" because she literally danced back and forth between her cutting mat, her machine, and her design wall while she created.

She's Lost Control Again was featured in the Improvisation category, sponsored by Gotham Quilts, at QuiltCon 2020.

Love it. I call it "seat of the pants" quilting-- just keep playing til it looks right.

First of all, I love the quilt and what it stands for! I also use the process of 'don't know what I'm doing til it happens' when I quilt. I don't do my own quilting but love the cutting and piecing and making it up as I go along. It has helped keep me somewhat same during all the turmoil these days.

Interesting that you used red in frustration and anger. I made lots of red hearts as a healing my heart process!

That is a fun way to develop a quilt. If you are not courageous to try for a quilt, practice with a back. You would be surprised how well they turn out.
