My friend Kathy has been a long time member of the Tucson Quilters Guild and was this year's hanging chairman...so, when she invited me to visit the show I couldn't wait. The Tucson Quilt Guild is dedicated to promoting the art of quilting and fellowship. It was so nice to have an insider share information about the show and also to bridge introductions with quilters who had quilts in the show. One of quilters she said I needed to talk with turned out to be a former guest of The Quilt Show! It was Show 1907: Machine Quilting Friends with guest was Nancy Arseneault!

Her quilt, called Isn't it Romantic?, was a judged quilt and won 2 ribbons! 1st place for One Person Machine Appliqué Machine Quilted and also for Exemplary Machine Appliqué.

Nancy started with a pattern by Esther Aliu, stitching a blanket stitch on her old BERNINA. She said she loved the thunk sound her old BERNINA made :) Nancy uses 2 batts in her quilts, one cotton and one wool with the wool one on top. She says the wool batt when quilting provides dimension to her quilts, and as you can see she knows what she is doing!

When I attend Quilt Shows I am amazed by the talent all around, and Nancy has definitely inspired me to give this technique a try!!

Stay tuned and travel along with us on Quilt Roadies.

This quilt is not only beautiful but inspiring. It is inspiring me to work on applique a little more. I have much to learn and practice. Love the design and colors.
