Two different quilters, Cheryl Garrison and Geneva Carroll, stitched up the 2009 TQS BOM Stars for a New Day (designed by Sue Garman) in two totally different color ways. The quilts were made by the women before they knew each other and now they have become great friends. One quilt is made in black and white and the other "June Cleaver on Acid". Bound together by their love of quliting...two different quilters, two great quilts.

Cheryl's quilt is the black and white version and Geneva's is the multi-colored version.

Sorry about hideaway not being able to appreciate quilt. Vision problems.makes her dizzy.
I use my iPhone and just examine each side at a time,
Would this help.
I thought I liked the colorful one most but it is the black and white that steels the show.

From what I see, the difference in size is due to a variance in a couple borders. Also, would love to see each quilt by itself. Having vision problems it's very difficult to focus on each one. Makes me dizzy looking at them displayed this way.

These are exquisite! I wonder if the small difference in the quilt sizes is a result of the colored one using a seam allowance a few millimeters wider?

Would really love to see both quilts separately in their entirety.

Tri-City Quilters' Guild's exhibit at Gallery at the Park in Richland, WA, has come down, but our 37th annual quilt show goes up for March 20-21 at Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Cheryl was our member featured artist last year, Geneva the year before...

Love both of these quilts, but the colourful one makes my heart sing.
