Founder's Award Winner - Houston 2019 - Sandra Leichner's "Naturalist's Notebook"

Sandra Leichner's quilt, Naturalist's Notebook, won one of the top eight awards at the International Quilt Festival in Houston 2019. It's not hard to see why when you look at the appliquéd details of each individual flower and bird. The quilting is absolutely extraordinary as well and Capt'n John made sure to get a lot of close ups.

I’ve been following Sandra and working along on these blocks for the past 10 years. She’s a wonderful teacher and a lovely person. I’ve learned so much from her.

I already bought her book and did the wren. But seeing it at Houston was wonderful. It’s beyond my words. So thrilled to see it in person.
