Gorgeous quilt. I too noticed the rope like appearance next to the blue border. Upon closer inspection, the entire quilt is based upon hexagons, with very intricate quilting over the entire piece.

Gorgeous - I am particularly drawn to the twisted appearance of the row around the outside, just
inside the plain blue border - lovely!

I love he died, and this may be my all-time favorite heir quilt. She has used that traditional technique to make a truly fresh, beautiful, and technically stunning work of art. Thanks for sharing all these Quilt Nihon quilts with us. They are magnificent.

Love it. Such precision is amazing. Beautiful colors also. It does remind me of tile floors that I have seen.

So glad you included the dimensions -- such tiny pieces in such a big quilt! Amazing work and design.

This quilt has so much precision piecing and quilting in it along with such vibrant color. It is a joy to look at this hexagon quilt.

A real patchwork quilt, not an art quilt, and a very well-done one. Her handiwork is admirable!
