Fascinated by charm quilts, quilts with over 1,000 different fabrics, Janet Arkison decided she needed to make one and a series of "Goldilocks" quilts was born from her fabric stash. This is the smallest, Baby Bear.

Baby Bear was on exhibit at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.

Janet is my birth name, but Jenny is the name I've always gone by. This set of quilts was so fun to make! I do plan to put out a pattern for them at some point. The largest is 56.5" x 74.25" and the smallest, this one, is 17.75" x 21".

Of course her seams are perfect. She learned at the knee of the master. She is Sue Garman’s daughter. And we love her just as much. So talented so gracious so fun. .

I also commend her for being able to do all the points and getting everything to line up, especially with small pieces!! I recently made an all triangle quilt with about 7" triangles and it was the most frustrating one I've ever made! I never ripped out so many seams(or swore so much while sewing) and if there are points on some of the triangles many don't all line up, If I ever get it quilted maybe it will make it look better, but for now it's sitting in my fabric room. Never will I make another one like it!!

Triangles and a thousand different fabrics, oh my! This quilter certainly is persistent. I commend her for being able to deal with all of the points. I appreciate all the work but it would not be something I would ever do.

The maker’s Name is incorrect — this was made by Jenny Arkinson, daughter of Sue Garman.
