This BOS winner is no stranger to blue ribbons. In fact, Starburst won Best of Show at AQS QuiltWeek Virginia Beach 2018. Now it has won Large Quilts, Stationary, Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Daytona Beach 2019. The quilting and embroidery work are absolutely mind-boggling and we are still trying to figure out how she did the border trim. Take a closer look at Starburst by Susan Stewart. Susan's work is absolutely stunning. And it's all done by machine and thread. She has several classes listed on Craftsy now. She started out as an heirloom seamstress and carried it over to quilting. Everything is done on a domestic machine.

Absolutely the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen! Would love to see how she put this altogether!

Thank you for such wonderful pictures of this magnificent quilt. I love Susan's work and how she includes machine embroidery and heirloom machine stitching into her work. Well deserved ribbons.

I would like to be able to sew such a marvellous quilt, It is splendid.
She doesn't have small childs at home .To do that, you must to be quiet. Full of felicitations to this Lady.

Absolutely beautiful. As a long time machine embroidery fan, I cannot even begin to imagine the time it took to stitch out the free standing lace border let alone stitch the other embroidery designs.

The amount of work must be mindblowing. I wonder how long it took her. You can now get embroidery machines where you take a photo of the area you wish to quilt, you download that into a separate computer program where it measures it then you design the quilting up for that spot, then you put it on a USB stick transfer it to your machine and then the machine will do that area.
Isn't tech wonderful?
