While we were at QuiltCon, we snuck up on the Quilt Alliance while they were taping a "Go Tell It at The Quilt Show!" interview with the QuiltCon BOS Winner, Leanne Chahley and her quilt, Smile. It was a video within a video :) Watch the video and find out how the quilt came together. And, a great big thank you to the Quilt Alliance for allowing us to shadow them.

Smile by Leanne Chahley (and international friends) won Best in Show at QuiltCon 2019.

And here's the back...

Love the quilt. The freedom of the shapes and the happy colors. Great job ladies, on this well deserving quilt. I think your choice on how to quilt it was perfect!!

I like that is has a traditional ye
t modern flare, and the brightness of colors and shapes does bring smiles which is the international language.

Love the bright colors and the way the top was set together. What fun! Fun to make and fun for viewers as well. It should make anyone smile!

The idea of many people creating blocks to create this quilt is definitely a fun one. The workmanship is great considering many hands made the blocks. However, it is not my cup of tea. This is way too busy for me. Not having seen the other quilts, I wonder if I would have considered it "Best of Show".

Just wow.
And you can take that however you want. I know what it meant to me.

I bet there are some unhappy entrants in that show.
