Susan calls her quilt, Moonlight Sonata, a "very simple design in black and white with lots of intricate quilting." Well, we have to agree about the quilting, but we are not so sure how simple it is. This elegant quilt also features machine embroidery and free-standing lace. And, we are still trying to figure out how she did the trim/binding on the quilt. Here are lots of photos for you to enjoy.

Susan's Quilt was awarded 3rd Place Merit Quilting, Machine—Stationary -- Sponsored by BERNINA of America at the Houston International Quilt Festival 2018.

amazingly created in such detail! I so admire quilters who can take great advantage of their embroidery part of their machine. I never have even though I love so many designs.
The black stitching around the flowers surely gives a wonderful dimension to them.
Thanks for sharing it with us!

the border is free standing lace as she says; done on an embroidery machine. My machine is older and I can only make 6-7 inch sections put together with zigzag and applied to edge. The black figures around the quilt are also embroidery, then quilted. Beautiful!

This is exquisite. The border is intriguing--how was it completed? Thanks for sharing the pictures.
