Not only did this artist receive the coveted "Best Artist Name" award (okay it's not a real award. Capt'n John just liked the name), but the quilt, Whizz Bang!, incorporating a folded fabric technique, really caught our imagination. Rachaeldaisy Daisy of Australia created a quilt you need to stand in front of for awhile to take it all in. That's tough to do with all the traffic at the show, but you can here. Enjoy! (Rachaeldaisy also won a 2nd Place prize. We will show that later. Stay tuned.)

I absolutely love this quilt and the whimsy about it. I reminds me of a carnival set to fabric.

Beautiful!
This isn't the folded star potholders I got for our 1980's wedding!

I talked to her for awhile at the show and she was explaining more about her quilt. She was so enthusiastic and a joy to talk to... So much imagination, experimentation , and whimsy in her quilt!

Her work’s as wonderful as her name and the person herself. It just all happens together. Have done a workshop with her and it was such a pleasant experience.Jan Fitzpatrick #1 fan.

The longer I look at the enlarged squares, the more amazed I am that anyone could make such a work to delight the beholder! What talent and concentration it had to take to even get the idea right, and then to have the concentration over the long process...I am amazed!
