September 2019 Update:

They've done it again! Diamond Effervescence has won Best of Show at AQS QuiltWeek Paducah Fall 2019. Congratulations!

Diamond Effervescence, by Beth Nufer & Clem Buzick, won the BERNINA 1st Runner Up Award at the Pacific International Quilt Festival 2018. It's easy to see why.

MacRitcan - some Google research reveals that Beth is the one doing the piecing and Clem is the one doing the quilting on an A1 longarm machine. Both have done a brilliant job and both take credit. The label says it is an original design which I would take to be the piecing, otherwise it would state a pattern or inspiration from a book etc. The quilting is also original to fit around the piecing. It is a magnificent quilt, and well deserved of Best of Show, a title they have won with other quilts I see.

A lovely quilt for sure but I don't understand the label.
Two people made the quilt but the comment is written in the singular and no credit seems to be given to either of the makers as far as the quilting or design is concerned. Is this an original design? Is it from a pattern? If so whose pattern? Is the quilting an original design? Was the long arm hand or computer driven?
At the very least credit should be given to the long arm quilter as well as to the person who "enjoyed working with the silk".

I think there should be special categories in shows for quilts using the long arm machines as these machines can now be computerized to fit and quilt any space on a quilt, .so the machine does the work. The people using stationery small machines don't stand a chance in winning against them.
Great quilt though.
