Congratulations to Sandy Curran and her quilt, I Hope You Dance, which won 1st Place in Wall Quilts - Fiber Art Category at AQS QuiltWeek® – Virginia Beach, Virginia 2018. There is so much movement in the quilt, you'll want to dance with her.

Sandy writes:
"Sometimes my quilts are cathartic, a way to exorcise the pain and fears in life. Sometimes my work is an expression of my joy in the things I love."

Every comment above says all the things I would. The movement, the colors, the impressionistic approach make me hear the words of the beautiful song in my mind. Thank You

I could see the dancer and movement immediately in an impressionist painting, but in a quilt????? OMGoodness! it's wonderful! I'm in awe.

Now this is a wonderful example of an art quilt. I have never seen a more expressive quilt. Unbelievably magnificent.

Now THIS is truly art! What an amazing piece...and I agree with Morningstar1..m any "human body quilts" also look a bit awkward to my eye....this one is just perfection...

This is one of the most beautiful and impressive quilts I've ever seen. Wish I could see hung.

Love the impressionistic twist. It makes the image much more believable.
