In this beautiful quilt, "Dawning Forest" by Soyoung Chung from South Korea, there is a wonderful contrast between the pieced background and the trunks of the trees. You'll really want to take a closer look at the texture she has created to replicate the beauty of nature. We are not quite sure how she did it. The quilt was on display at Spring Paducah 2018.

Each piece of bark seemed to consist of four different types of fabric, The colors, the quilting the light within the quilt makes it seems so alive. What a masterpiece. Thank you

From the last close up on the page, it looks like she used fabric confetti arranged in a realistic manner then she free form stitched it all down. Fantastic method to make trees. You can see tiny strings from the snippets of fabric.

Very nice job, and kudos to a fantastic artist.

Fabulous contrast between the pieced and the art. Makes them so stately and so real.
