Hippolyte Hunting by Marilyn Belford and Jamie Wallen depicts Hippolyte, a Queen of the Amazons. The Amazons were a tribe of fierce, empowered women descended from Ares, God of War. This quilt shows Hippolyte hunting on the back of a horse. We love her attitude.

Hippolyte Hunting was exhibited in Houston 2017, won an Honorable Mention at Road to California 2018, and was Viewer's Choice at the Garden State Quilters Guild 2018.

I absolutely adore this quilt. I have a grand-daughter who would love something like this. Is there any way perhaps that you have a pattern or something similar to this??? This is way out of my wheel house but I just have to try something like this. You are an amazing quilter and would love to have your skills. I have been quilting for 20 years and have created many exceptional quilts, but nothing like this.

This is breathtaking. But then all of Marilyn's work is. She is an amazing teacher, I started taking her classes in 2004 online at Quilt University. I have taken all her classes & she has inspired me to do Art Quilts. Her classes online now At Academy of Quilting are still amazing. Her work deserves a best of show ribbon, she is awesome.

It is about time Marilyn Belford has been recognized by TQS. I've been a star member since TQS began and I wondered, when are they going to show Marilyn and her quilts?? She is AMAZING. And she teaches us online. Academy of Quilting now, I first started with her on Quilt University. I thought, how can I take an online class? I won't be able to understand what she is talking about. And that is till true with most teachers, but Marilyn explains as many ways as it takes for you to understand. She never gives up on her students. And her quilts are most beautiful and amazing works of art. Alex and Ricky need to visit her and have her as a featured guest, if only to show the world of TQS her many quilts. She is a remarkable woman and I am honored to call her teacher, mentor and friend.
