One of our favorite TQS guests is adding a great achievement to her list. Jenny Bowker is going to made an officer in the Order of Australia. It recognizes her work on Australia-Middle East cultural relations through the preservation of traditional arts.
Jenny wrote on Facebook:
I am absolutely moved and thrilled at today’s award and even more by the waves of congratulations from friends all over the world.
Thank you. I have never understood why the bottom of my heart is any better than any other part - but thank you.

That lead line is a reference to a question I once asked Bob.
“How can I be a diplomat’s wife? I haven’t a clue what is expected of me.”
His response, “You can’t represent Australia by pretending to be the French Ambassador’s wife. Just be yourself and do what you want to do.”
I pass that on to other diplomats all the time.
The spelling error was not mine.
