Captain John ran into Maria Ferri Cousins in front of her quilt, Endangered - The Lemur's Tale, at Spring Paducah 2018. He asked her about the quilt which, took over 2 years to make. It was made using silk painting, thread painting, trapunto and more. Listen and watch as Maria discusses her creative process.

Maria's quilt won Best Wall Quilt at AQS QuiltWeek Spring Paducah 2018.

Thank you Capt. John. It was great talking to you, TQS, Alex and Ricky. You all have been a source of encouragement to me throughout the years. My first quilt was a Snippet that I made after watching Alex and Cindy Walter on Simply Quilts. Thank you all especially AQS for the tremendous impact you have made in the quilting world. Family and friends can visit these lemurs at The National Quilt Musuem in Paducah. Just let them know ahead of your visit so they can display the quilt. These lemurs have been on an adventure , from Africa, to a Rescue Zoo in Spain and now a museum; their forever home. I hope they teach and inspire all NOT to endanger our relationships with each other, this planet and our creator. When we don't give up on challenging moments beauty results . Thank you again. Maria
