Canadian Quilt Group Wins 1st Place Group Quilt with "Ice Fishing Village"

The Group Quilt Category was very competitive at Spring Paducah 2018. The first place quilt was "Ice Fishing Village" (68"x45") by the Canadian group, Les Amies du Quilt. Take a look at the details in the quilt. They must have had National Tryouts to get into the group. Fantastic work.

"Ice Fishing Village" also won the OLFA Viewers’ Choice Award.

This absolutely spectacular quilt is so reminiscent of work by the famous Canadian painter Cornelius Krieghof. The intricate details speak highly to the skill and precision of the very talented quilters.
I am proud that my fellow Canadians have produced such a beautiful piece of art. Well done.
