Paula Nadelstern's quilt, KALEIDOSCOPIC XLI: The Prague Spanish Synagogue Ceiling, won 2nd place, Wall Quilts: Movable Machine Quilted at AQS QuiltWeek Spring Paducah 2018. Known for her kaleidoscopic style and intricate piecing, it is often difficult to see how she puts together her quilts. This time she let's us see how she does it by showing us the "inside" of her quilt.

Star Members can watch Paula at work in Show 307: Puzzle Quilts and Show 2010: Easy Piecing with Complex Fabrics Makes Complex Quilts.

Pressing seams open is perfectly acceptable for a wall hanging. The backs are beautiful also!!!

I took a class from Paula and finished one block! I made it the focal point of a wall quilt that I cherish, but I have to admit that one block was enough.

The last five pictures are of the backside of the top of the quilt, showing all of the seams. I went to one of her lectures and the attention to detail putting all of her components together is really mind-boggling. Well done Paula!

If her quilts are wall hangings, I don't think the quilt will be "weak" as previously posted. A wall hanging will not get treated the same as a quilt on a bed.

The seams do not look opened to me.....

Incredible work! I'm still happy if I make my points, but I can still enjoy someone else's masterpiece!
