Here's a handy little secret hidden in Gutermann spools of thread! Some other brands have this too.

These ends can also be used to keep the wiggly openings of the large spools of Coats & Clark threads snugly fit on your thread spool on your machine. You will need the bigger, not the skinny thread spool portion from the gutermann thread. Simply insert it in the thread spool opening of the Coats & Clark thread spool. If you don't have this kind of thread, ask a friend I'm sure they would be happy to give you this portion. :D

I knew the end opened a bit. I use it to wind the loose end of the spool. So glad to know this secret =]
