Amber Corcoran used 1/2" squares in her quilt Cancer & Taurus (Constellation Quilt). How small are the pieces in your quilt?

Amber's quilt was exhibited at QuiltCon 2016 in the Minimalist Design category.

In a small quilt, I pieced double nine patch blocks with 1/4 inch pieces.

I assume the half inch squares are half inch finished and have an unfinished cut size of one inch? Still way teeny!

WanderingJackie , the 1/2” size refers to the finished square. The fabric piece is actually cut a 1/2” larger. For example, if you want the square to be 1” when sewn (finished), you would cut it at 1 1/2”.

Creative quilt!

How do you get 4 1/4 inch seams on a 1/2 square? ;-)

What a clever idea. I'm a quilter AND an astrologer and this quilt touches me on so many levels. Beautiful job and love the quilting itself!

On my miniature I made for the exchange I have pieced over 700 pieces 3/8 of an inch. Hope we will be selected with my partner.
