Laura at SewVeryEasy shows you a way to make bias binding that requires no special rulers and no fancy folding technique. It's just simple cutting and sewing.

Another great educational video! I take pool noodles and cut them into approx. 8" segments and wind the completed binding around these. The great part is that you can pin into the foam to secure the ends of the binding and unroll just the amount you need while stitching it on (so much better than the cardboard tubes from toilet paper that I used to use!).

Too much waste and too many small seams to sew. The way I make bias binding there's no fabric waste and only 2 seams to sew.

Always enjoy videos from Laura Ann Coia, but found this one especially useful. Much more precise than folding and cutting for bias binding. Thank you, Laura, for another winning tip!

Thank you so much Laura! This is so much easier than folding the fabric.

I have been quilting for many years and have always struggled with the binding. Laura makes it look so simple. I am definitely going to use this method on my next quilt.
