Quilts of Valor® 2018 Block Drive

Quilts of Valor QOV

Quilts of Valor® is having a block drive. The block is a Friendship Star with a pinwheel center (12" finished). The purpose of the national block drive is to give individuals or groups who wish to make just a few blocks, but not assemble a quilt, have their block(s) in quilts made across the nation. These blocks can be assembled in many ways into a QOV.

Are blocks still being collected? It's August 2018 now. In the file it says "Please report the number you make to suzanne.dicarlo

QOVF.org so we can publish the total
number made after Conference, May 2018."
Is it too late to send in more blocks?

:-I was very interested in the method used for making this block, but found the instructions very confusing. Did any one else find this. I finally worked it out but putting the squares onto the rectangle took me quite a while. Surely better illustrations would make it easier

The internet is going to go thru some kind of security update in March... some websites are upgrading early .. expect to see a lot messages saying that this website is not safe.... the URL has to have https upgrade instead of just the plain http that was used in the past. Most websites have been upgrading but a lot of them have not completed or have not even tried to upgrade to the new safety standards.

Near the end of your instructions you say “the finished block should measure 12-1/2”. “ I think you mean it will measure 12-1/2” as sewn, but finish at 12”. Kind of confusing for some.

They must have fixed the link. I had no problems with it. I am using Chrome as my browser and it opened right up with no messages about security.

I'm getting a clock error.
A private connection to www.qovf.org can't be established because your computers date and time are incorrect.
The date and time are correct on my computer.
