Made by Ineke van der Molen and designed by Esther Aliu, this stunning quilt, Annegien, an Unknown Friendship, celebrates the memory of a friend and truly honors her life.
 

Ineke's quilt was exhibited at the Houston International Quilt Festival in 2016.

Thank you Jacomina, the incorrect translation of 'ongekend' was bugging me too. I think 'incomparable' comes closest here.

Esther Aliu released this on her blog as a free block of the month. Quilters from all around the world started this project. What is really great is looking at all the finished quilts and how different they are to each other.One has a black background and a circus theme. Esther has a link on her blog to the collection of finished quilts.
