This fascinating quilt, Double Take from Earamichia Brown, features two different views of the same image. She showcases the mirror image of the original subject using two distinct techniques, one with fabric only and one with pencil only. The original photo used for the quilt was created by Milton Washington.

Double Take was exhibited in the Art-Painted Surface category sponsored by The Quilt Show at the Houston International Quilt Festival.

This piece is amazing. It draws you in instantly and keeps you coming back for the details. I would be so interested to see it up close in person. Congratulations to the amazing artist. You have captured the essence of the scene perfectly.
Double Take is also the perfect name for your quilt.

Wow, This is fabulous. Such a marvelous use of different mediums-- from photos, to fabric to paint. Just unbelievable; so well thought out and executed. This is a quilt that could not be adequately described in 1,000 or more words.

Thanks to Earamichia, and all great congratulations on a stunning and art focused quilt. The practice of transferring art and design applications to cloth is personal and enriching, and this quilt demonstrates her devotion to her friend, her own arts practice and the story that both photographer and textile artist tell to their viewers. Beautifully executed.
