Houston had many exciting things happening when TheQuiltShow.com arrived at The George R. Brown Convention Center for Quilt Market and Festival.  Quilt Market hadn't started yet and the vendors were building their booths. We took a quick stroll around the area. Besides the quilting, there were preparations for Halloween, a car exhibit, a concert, an Egyptian festival, and the World Series all on the same 3 blocks.

Totally agree. $60 for parking is highway robbery. Don't say the the price is for the Astros game. Seven years ago parking was $20.00 for the quilt show. Thieves.

I’m here in Houston from the Gold Coast in Australia.
My flight from Sydney to Dallas was 15 and half hours...long time on a plane. Arrived amidst baseball fever...orange jerseys everywhere. Had a peek at the Quilt Market..wow can’t wait to, hopefully see Alex and Ricky. Want to have a look at Alex’s cutters etc.

As far as dates, we are at Market right now. Festival doesn't start until Nov 1.

Sioux, That price was for the World Series. It's back to about $7-$10 near the quilt show.

Catalogs are mailed and online registration starts end of July I think.

It is usually scheduled around the last week of October and first week of November. Quilt Market is the weekend preceding. Looks like it is later than usual next year - Nov. 8-11.

If they could schedule it the 1st week in November next year that would be awesome. Better timing.

This is really wetting my appetite for Houston! Saving up to go in 2018. It's a 16 hour flight Melbourne to Dallas, then on to Houston. I presume there are packages that include accommodation with entry, classes, dinners etc.
Looking forward to introducing myself to Alex and Ricky.
