Sue Fiscalini managed to fit 16 quilts onto Sue's Journals, her Best Interpretation of Theme, Innovative, winner at the Pacific International Quilt Festival 2017. Pretty clever, and we love the way they look like they are floating. Have you ever made a journal quilt?

I also believe that the one block is pretty much a duplicate of Terry Aske's Rainy Day quilt. Too bad this quilter didn't head Terry's request to "make it her own". Totally lost respect for this quilt now that I see she copied Terry's original to make it appear to be her own.

I love the concept, and admire the execution of this quilt. However, I was somewhat taken aback when I saw the Rain journal quilt. It looks so much like my Rainy Day People quilts http://www.terryaskeartquilts.com/Studio/gallery/rainy-day-people-the-story-so-far/

When people ask if I have patterns for my quilts, or if they can copy them, I say something like this "I'm happy that you enjoy my work, and that you are interested in creating a similar piece. You have my permission to use my quilts as inspiration for your own. But please do not make an exact copy of any of them."

They are stitched in the ditch just inside the binding with a basting stitch so they can be removed. Thank you for your interest and give it a try - it is great fun!
