Chinese Quilter Honors Ink Style Art Without Ink - Jin Dong

Jin Dong of China won 3rd Place Art-Pictorial at Houston 2016. Her quilt, Spring of the Watery Place, honors the Chinese Ink painting skills without using inks. Her quilt also tells the tale of the Spring scenery of a watery place in southern China that is being lost to urban development. The quilt is very large. It didn't have the measurements, but the quilt is over 6' wide.

We loved the watercolor feel and the Chinese style quilting.

wow, speechlessly modern yet trdtional at the same time. the quilting in it makes it really look as if it has been inked.

I used the title of "without ink" from the sign with the quilt. Honestly, it looks like ink was used to me too. Does anyone know the answer of ink or no ink?

I would really be interested in how she make this exquisite quilt. It sure looks like inks or other pigment in the trees especially.
