Mayumi Ishii won 1st Place at Houston 2016 with her Wedding Quilt, Eternal Love. She made it for her son's wedding. It is Hand Quilted, Hand Appliquéd, Hand Emboidered, and Hand Trapuntoed. Last January I had the privilege of attending the Tokyo Great International Quilt Festival where I saw many, many quilts of this quality. Their handwork is amazing!They spend years practicing to attain the skills for doing quilts like this.
