Trying to decide what to wear for Halloween? How about one of these beauties from the "Star Wars and the Power of Costume" exhibit, which were displayed at Discovery Times Square in NYC. Walking through the exhibit we discovered that one of the citizens that inhabited that galaxy far, far, away had quite the couture wardrobe. "Royal" fabrics, exquisite appliqué, and embroidery are the hallmarks of many of her costumes on display.

The exhibit was recently in Cincinnati. It is wonderful. To me, Yoda was the highlight--pict ures can't quite capture him. Would recommend the show to anyone who enjoys costumes, creativity, and beautiful workmanship. You don't need to be a Star Wars fan!

I saw this exhibit in New York in April of this year. It was so amazing! I loved how they had samples of fabrics to touch so you could get an idea how lush they were. The displays were so close and there were so many of them...just left me speechless.

Saw this exhibit at the Denver Art Museum last November and again this year--it is amazing!! The fabrics are truly fantastic--real ly a fabulous exhibit. In Denver, we were also treated to a great deal of "behind the scenes" material--drawi ngs of costume ideas, set-ups of sewing rooms with patterns and fabrics, explanations of the materials used (not burlap--SILK and wool!), videos, the whole smash. It was most impressive!
