Good explanation but it would be much better to start on the corner where the two borders meet at the DOT instead of at the end. It is easier to start at the corner than try to end perfectly there. Also I think that matching up the seamed blocks along the borders will help increase chances to have EVERYTHING match at the mitered corner.

Andrea Krier this is more how to sew a miter, not matching the print on the stripes.

 Took too long to demonstrate simple technique.

I've only been quilting for 3 years, know how to miter but definitely learned something today, thank you!

One of the best how-to videos I have seen. I am an experienced sewist and learned several new things.

This is a good video for how to sew "mitered corners" but I don't see how it explains matching stripes. The mitering instructions don't seem to guarantee the stripes will match. Isn't there a step when actually sewing the borders on that is the trick?
