Sue Garman's Block of the Month 2017 for TQS, "The Halo Medallion," is a beautiful quilt. We quickly ran out of our kits and couldn't get the fabric to remake them. Island Batik saw the quilt and said, "That would be great in batiks!!" So they have done a computer layout of the look and have chosen the fabrics. We need to know how many to buy. Let us know if you are a serious purchaser. Voting below does NOT obligate you to buy the kit, it just tells us you probably will and we will know how many to order. Take a look. This heirloom quilt by Sue should be in your collection.

Remember, you must be a Star member to download the patterns. The pattern is worth $99 and membership is just $49, so it's a great deal just for that. The kit costs $287, exactly as much as the original kit, and includes 26+ yards of fabric, including background and binding. Vote below the pictures.

I love that it's the same colorway I chose from my stash, except I used a green/yellow focus fabric instead of the plain pale yellow.

I loved Sue's pattern when it first came out, but the 1st colorway wasn't for me, so I have been sketching options with these colors! It would be lovely (and bittersweet), to make her quilt with these batiks! She was just an amazing inspiration to our quilt community.

I'm on a fixed income and can't afford the kit. I did want to let you know that the colors are great but the the pale yellows get lost in the white background. Change that to black and the quilt would be striking. I hear that there is a new batik coming out that is a good black. I'm keeping an eye out for it.

I love the fabrics but am already making the quilt with various reds and white on white backgrounds.

Looks great but not in the USA what postage would be involved

I agree with ghoney. Love working with batiks, but the kit price is out of my price range at the moment.

Longtime admirer of Sue's designs and awesome talents. A beautiful quilt and kit but it's out of my price range- I've got to use my own deep stash of fabrics!!

I love working with batiks, and had hoped to find some to do Sue's BOM, but ended up with regular cotton, and am very happy with most of the colours I have chosen.
