3rd Place is from Germany and is Hand Quilted

Andrea Stacke from Germany has created "Serandite, a 34"x48" quilt that won 3rd Place in the Small Wall Quilts- Hand Quilted. The color is very interesting and comes from the stone serandite. This quilt was inspired by a diamond tiara/necklace made in the 19th century. All the patterns are needle marked with self-made cardboard templates.

Congratulations Andrea! I adore your work, I wish I could see your quilts in person. You've inspired me to get back into hand quilting and to use needle marking for a Welsh style quilt I'm planning. I'm in awe of your quilting stitches and your designs.
