Jason Kottke of Kottke.org recently posted an article about Mister Rogers' sweaters. He notes that Owen Phillips charted the color of every sweater Mister Rogers wore from 1979 to 2001 (and shows the chart) and gives a shout out to the person who made all the sweaters.

Click on Learn More to see the color chart.

And, it was his MOM, who made all the sweaters...click here to watch a video where he talks about the sweaters.

I knew that! I remember watching the show with my son when he was little (late 70s), and hearing Mr. Rogers talking about his mother making his sweaters (the clipi in the link above). Sweet memories!

Fred Rogers never served in the military. Snopes debunked this myth some time ago. I agree,he was a lovely person and is much missed.

Actually, Mr. Rogers was never a marine. He was a Presbyterian minister.

I once saw Lee Marvin on a talk show when he was talking about "Mr. Rogers". Mr. Marvin referred to Mr. Rogers A's the bravest man he had ever known. Mr. Rogers had been a Marine. My children loved Mr. Rogers. He was a very calming influence. Too bad we don't have more like him today.
