In this vintage 1948 Simplicity video, you'll learn a great number of sewing tips that still hold true today. You'll also learn good posture, how to "add a few pounds," and that a good Home Economics teacher will be "on call" to help you with your fashion needs and fundraising projects.

We've come a long way in 70 years, and still have a long way to go.

The peasant blouse was looking good on Betty about 20 years before I made and wore mine.

As a former Home Ec teacher, I loved this. It brought back so many memories! :-)

Some things never change - Featherweights and following pattern directions. Wish this video could be updated with new filming techniques - we might get a new flock of home sewists.

Love the Featherweight! And the clothes. But my god, please tell me women weren't really that vapid in 1948! The guy's no mental giant, either. Astonishing.
