Do You Like Moda's Choices?

3 Substitute Fabrics. That's what we needed to make 35 more kits then the fabrics were gone. Alex asked Moda to make their choices for the substitutions. They are below. Did they do a good job? The substitute fabrics are on the bottom.

We have already sold 5 of the new kits and there are only 30 left. Please don't wait if this BOM and kit are pulling at your heart.

I think the replacements are better than the original. Especially the plaid. It a way stronger color and not so washed out.

I don't know who my quilt will be for. I chose to do this after watching show 200 and Carolyn Hock. I think it will be a great introduction to paper piecting.

Perfection. The plaid is fantastic. I like this combo more than the first one. Glad I waited.

I think the green in the quilt is so small it is going to read as a solid. Cut a 'window' in a piece of paper or card stock and back away from it. If you still don't like that green - it is an excuse to go shopping for the green you would like!

I like the red better than the original but the greens.. not so much.
I think that having two greens with the plaid/cross hatch and in the same color doesn't give enough distinction between them, other than the plaid is larger than the cross hatch one.
if one had a different design and was lighter, then it would be ok, as it is they read almost the same.

Actually the fabrics were from several collections. I was a part of the decision making process for the subs (along with Moda). I know there is concern regarding the plaid, but personally I love it. I always like stripes (also plaids) and polka dots in any quilt. It cuts up small.

I think the green plaid is the sub for the green on the right, then they both go better, at least on my monitor.

The plaid is not good. It is different color than what it replaced. Also, the dark lines in it will be distracting.
