Okay, the word “club" is being used loosely — there’s nothing to actually join. Still, Ricky Tims is gathering a virtual group of quilters for a fun, “take-your-time” project and it’s totally free! The Legacy Quilt Club is the name Ricky is giving to anyone wanting to play along. Ricky will be offering free downloads of the block patterns for the Legacy Quilt on his personal website (www.rickytims.com). He will be presenting one pattern per month for the next 20 months!

In 2015 Ricky designed the blocks for a local production of The Quilters. Most of the blocks in this quilt are used to intertwine the stories of pioneer women. The play reveals their hardships, their celebrations, and their tragedies. Ricky’s local theater company performed the show in 2015. The blocks are used to help tell the stories of the pioneer women. Due to the small theater in La Veta, Colorado, Ricky’s Legacy Quilt had to be designed horizontally. You can make yours vertically.

The Legacy Quilt is filled with timeless classic quilt blocks. Each block is fifteen inches.

THE NEW BLENDABLES from RICKY TIMS INC.

Look at the Flying Geese Block using Ricky’s hand-dyed blendables. Ricky will be presenting four colorway options featuring his new Blendables — beautiful gradations of hand-dyed fabrics. Using the Blendables is totally optional, but we know you’ll love them. The hardest part will be choosing which is your favorite colorway. Lucky Legacy Quilt Club participants will get a coupon code for 15% off of these beautiful Blendables when the project launches.

I would like to use a photo of the legacy quilt from the club site for publicity for our local production of Quilters in Bloomington Indiana. We’re making it using your patterns and we’re so happy to have them. We would credit you of course. Could you send me a photo?

Sandra - on the Legacy page at my website there is some information I have copied below. Other than the "pattern" there are no instructions.

Easy as 1•2•3

1. Get my Ricky Tims newsletter. SIGN UP HERE. Sign up for the newsletter at rickytims.com. This project will live under the EVENTS tab at rickytims.com

2. Each month the newsletter will provide a link to this page to get the download. The downloadable and printable PDFs have the necessary templates and/or instructions for making the block. The pattern assumes the quilter has basic understanding of construction techniques and methods. Coupon codes will be in the newsletter!

3. Our four colorways will be shown each month made from the Blendables. Everyone who participates will receive discount codes for 15% off of your purchase at the Ricky Tims Online Store.

Just starting to follow your monthly quilt project. I have printed the templates but where can I find your instructions for completing these blocks? Thanks!

I have added these quotes and a link to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Legacy and Research Association. How COOL that this is the Laura Ingalls Wilder 150th birthday year. That makes this a timely project!!! Share the news with your friends.

"The weather grew colder and the sky was full of wings and great birds flying."
— Laura Ingalls Wilder, From By the Shores of Silver Lake, Ch. 12, Wings Over Silver Lake
"Pa said, "We've got the world to ourselves! I saw only one flock of wilde geese today, flying high and fast. They weren't stopping at any lakes; not they! They were hurrying South.""
— Laura Ingalls Wilder, From By the Shores of Silver Lake, Ch. 14, Surveyor’s House

I just got your website address from the Anchorage Log Cabin Quilters newsletter. Very exciting project! I am a fabric designer and I'm launching a fun quilting project next month involving Alaska quilt shops. I would really like to get the word out - is it possible for me to post a couple of jpg pictures here?
thanks,

The templates are accurate. We made the four blocks using these exact templates. Template B doesn't really relate to template C. Template C is the huge triangle (north, south, east and west) in the block and template B are the four outside corners that attach to the paper pieced geese units.

I have printed off the templates, but template C
looks too big to go with template B. Am i doing. something wrong?

I'm 86 and still making quilts. This really sounds like fun. And I also have quite a stash.
