What do I do during the holidays? You mean besides watch football? Well, I love all the traditional holiday movies, such as It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, and Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your eye out!") But when it comes to the holidays I also enjoy watching classics such as Gone with the Wind and To Kill a Mockingbird and the like. I particularly enjoy watching movies that came out in a series and watching all of them from start to finish. For example, all of the Planet of the Apes, all of The Lord of the Rings, now including The Hobbit on the front end. Sometimes I'll do a mini-series and watch the entire series from start to finish - Downton Abbey anyone? I don't have a particular favorite, but when not watching a football game, this is how I spend my viewing time during the holidays.

Some of the watching would be done chilling on the couch, but most of my TV time is spent  in my studio, because I do like to quilt - and I can do both!

Christmas seems to be much more formal here in the UK. We host lunch for some men from a local group home who have no family and have been in care because of learning difficulties. one of them always tells us he's coming next year. on Boxing Day (26th) we usually do something outdoors and then visit family . this year I wont be doing a cycle ride as I fell last week and snapped my collar bone- no sewing either-

I agree - watching oldies but goodies and BRONCOS is the best! Especially when you can do this from the sewing machine.

Haha sounds almost like me, except from the football ( I´m from Denmark ). At this moment I´m catching up on The quilt show, then I´m going to watch/hear "Call the midwife" on netflix, while finishing two small handbags, christmas gifts for my mother. Merry Christmas to all of you here from Denmark :-)

I've been enjoying all the movies on Hallmark and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries this year. Go BRONCOS!!! Yes, a Kentuckian that's a Bronco fan.

Good for you Ricky. I love those same movies and never seem to have the time as we do not have Net Flics. Many are on Turner classic movies so catch quite a few there. Have a great Holiday. Love your tips and techniques
